We want to keep you in the know as we get ready to paddle out to the biggest wave of the year in Charleston, South Carolina. Keep an eye on the horizon for a weekly surf report that will include important information about what to expect, what to bring, and what to do to make Crest an epic experience for us all. Ready to catch the wave? Read on for the latest surf report.
Survey
Our Surf's Up Survey is live! This will take you less than 5 minutes and is a critical element of one of our learning sessions at Crest. We need a response from each Crest participant. Please, please complete the survey as soon as practical so we can ensure an awesome experience for all. The sooner we have the information, the better our session will be!
Weather Report
We are keeping a close eye on the weather in South Carolina to make sure Debby isn't a downer on our data summit. We will continue to monitor and stay in close contact with our local Charleston connections but are optimistically preparing for clear skies (and seas) in September.
Hotels
If you haven't already booked your hotel room, be sure to do it soon! Discounted blocks expire 8/16 at both the Embassy Suites and Home2 Suites. See our website for more information and direct booking links.
Social Events
- The Wash Ashore Welcome Mixer on Tuesday evening is FULL! We are so pleased with the response to our pre-Crest activities and look forward to seeing many of you at the GROM Sessions as well.
- Didn't get your name on the list in time, but planning to be in Charleston and hoping to join? Let us know! We're actively working to find a way to accommodate everyone who wants to be there. Send the Crest Crew a message and we'll make sure you're on the list to join us.
- Signed up but realizing your flight won't get you into Charleston in time to mix? Please let us know so we can invite one of your fellow Crest participants to stand in.
- We are looking forward to our featured social event, Outside Swell: Social at Sea. This is a private dinner cruise for our group to experience the beauty of the Charleston Harbor, alongside new data friends, great food, and refreshing beverages. While Hurricane Debby won't bring down our data summit, she unfortunately did bring down one of the dinner cruise docks. This means our ship will sail a bit later than previously expected, but - good news! - this also means we'll have time for a quick return to the downtown hotel to change, refresh, and recharge as needed. Our boarding time will now be 7:00pm with an estimated departure of 7:30 and dinner served immediately upon launch. Stay tuned for additional details about logistics.
Attire
- With our packed agenda and social events, you may be wondering: what should I wear?! I'm so glad you (and so many others) asked!
- Sessions - The main event will take place at the We Are Sharing Hope facilities and standard business casual attire is encouraged for the Crest sessions. For our outdoor events, keep the weather in mind. Charleston sees an average high of 84 and low of 72 in September. Consider light coverings for your time on the boat to stay warm if the wind blows across the water. Wash Ashore activities will wander between the indoors and out; keep in mind a warm afternoon sun might make the patio toasty.
- Wash Ashore - For the Wash Ashore welcome mixer, may we suggest Lowcountry Laid Back? Or Magnolia Mixer Casual. Think linen, seersucker, khaki, light and summery, but still neat and festive. Light dresses, slacks, a bit more on the casual side of a cocktail hour.
- Social at Sea - At the Outside Swell Social at Sea, we're striving for Sunset Boat Casual. Keeping to our Magnolia Mixer fabrics, but not decked to the nines. Perhaps even Boat Shoes - or is that too on the bow?
- Regardless of our silly attire guide names and terrible puns, the bottom line is this: dress however you are comfortable that also lets you enjoy your time at Crest! If we can answer any specific questions, please reach out.
Still Need Help?
The Crest Crew is here to help. If you have any questions or need any support, please reach out via the Send a Message feature on the home page or email.
